Goodbye 2008. Hello 2009.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? I got married!

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Sort of.  I lost weight.  Which I promptly gained back after I got married.  And I worked out, until I got married. I’m noticing a theme here.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My aunt, my cousin, my girls at work, my best friend, a high school friend and a college friend. I don’t think I missed anyone.

4. Did anyone close to you die? No, thankfully.

5. What countries did you visit? Just the one I live in.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? A house with my husband.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? November 8. And the birthdays of those sweet babies.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I planned my whole wedding basically by myself.  And somehow managed to work full-time.

9. What was your biggest failure? Stopping the weightloss and the working out.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Nothing serious.

11. What was the best thing you bought? Rings.  🙂

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? I haven’t a clue

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? There were several.

14. Where did most of your money go? Hahaha.  Wedding.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?? Honeymooning in Hawaii.  And getting married.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008? This Kind of Love- Sister Hazel.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
(a) Happier or Sadder? Happier.
(b) Thinner or Fatter? About the same, more or less?
(c) Richer or Poorer? Poorer.  No job.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Spent time with my nephew.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Complaining.

20. How did you spend Christmas in 2008? With my family.

21. Did you fall in love in 2008? Fell more in love with my husband.

22. How many one-night stands? Hahaha.  None.  That’s what happens when you become an old married lady.

23. What was your favorite TV program? Grey’s Anatomy, Army Wives, Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Nope.

25. What was the best book you read? I read way too many books for this but: Marley and Me, The Twilight Series

26. What was your greatest musical discovery? I have no idea.

27. What did you want and get? The perfect day.

28. What did you want and not get? To move in “our house” and not the “bachelor apartment”

29. What was your favorite film of this year? Mamma Mia!

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 29.  Spent it with my boy and my family. And my nephew started singing Happity Day to You at my birthday.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? I can’t think of anything.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Jeans and a comfy shirt.

33. What kept you sane? My friends.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Hugh Jackman.

35. What political issue stirred you the most? Definitely the election.  And the months (years) of campaigning!

36. Who did you miss? I missed my family & friends.

37. Who was the best new person you met? Friends of my husband.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. Don’t forget to take a minute and look around you- absorb it all in.  My dad said that to me during our father-daughter dance.

40. What are your resolutions for 2009? Goals for 2009: Lose weight.  Find a job.  Buy a house.
